The Intersection has two welcoming, flexible spaces available for hire to corporate, school and community groups (subject to availability), located at Level 2, 673 Bourke St, Melbourne, a stone’s throw from Southern Cross Station (Spencer Street) and with the iconic 96 and 86 tramlines stopping directly outside our double doors on Bourke St.
The Depot and The Platform are bright spaces with large windows facing north onto Bourke Street (and full blinds if required). Donkey Wheel House is a beautiful gothic heritage building with a history of supporting community groups and change makers, featuring a wine bar and restaurant on the ground floor and surrounded by convenient options for coffee & a variety of cuisines.
The Depot

Space Overview
The Depot is a large, adaptable event space suited to seminars, conferences, panel discussions, and workshops. With a generous floor area and flexible layout options, it accommodates a range of event formats, from structured presentations to more interactive sessions.
The space features carpeted flooring and projection capability, making it particularly well suited to presentation-led events. Natural light and heritage detailing add character, while maintaining a clean and functional environment.
Located on Level 2 of Donkey Wheel House, The Depot offers a versatile setting for medium-sized events in the heart of the city.
Capacity depends on the room configuration, for example a tabled meeting set up holds approximately 35, a seated audience (with tables on the side for catering, for example) could be up to around 80, and standing room 120+.

Space Overview
The Platform is a light-filled, flexible space with hardwood floors and elevated views over Bourke Street. It’s well suited to workshops, seminars, and group sessions, with the ability to adapt to various layouts.
The space can accommodate smaller table-based meetings, mid-sized workshops, or larger presentation-style setups, depending on your needs.
Located on Level 2 of Donkey Wheel House, the space combines contemporary functionality with the character of a heritage building. It also works well for movement-based sessions such as rehearsals or small creative workshops.
Capacity depends on the room configuration, for example a tabled meeting set up holds approximately 10–20, a seated audience around 30–50, and standing room ~60.

Normal hours of availability: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
After hours or early access may incur additional fees.
Use of chairs and tables, wifi, whiteboards, projector & AV is inclusive in venue hire. Additional costs may be incurred if you need staff support or room set up.

Tram: Southern Cross tram stop on Bourke St (Routes 86 & 96) has an accessible pedestrian crossing direct to our front door. Location is only 10 mins walk from Collins St Southern Cross tram stop (Routes 11, 12, 48, 109).
Car: No parking available at venue. Limited street parking and affordable parking garages close by. Godfrey St can be used for bump-in/out.
